Committee San Diego - Yokohama Sister City Youth Exchange Program
from
11/15 to 11/21 PURPOSE The Board of Directors of the San Diego - Yokohama Sister City Society feel strongly that participation in educational, social and cultural activities between the cities of San Diego, California, U.S.A. and Yokohama, Japan is necessary for the future of global peace and prosperity. In order to provide for the exchange of ideas and to provide a learning experience for its citizens, it intends to sponsor, manage and partially finance the San Diego - Yokohama Sister City Youth Exchange Program. This program, organized and managed by the Educational Committee of the San Diego - Yokohama Sister City Society ("Educational Committee") intends to send up to sixteen participants every other year on an experience exchange tour to Yokohama, Japan, which will provide a unique benefit to the citizens of both San Diego and Yokohama. GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPANTS Volunteers and staff members of human service agencies ages 18 through 35 are invited to apply for the opportunity to exchange their experiences and knowledge with their professional peers in Japan this November 2005! Fifteen applicants will be selected. Requirements: GENERAL The Educational Committee reserves the right of final approval for all participants chosen to participate in this program. The Education Committee will be responsible each year for determining the number and the choice of participants to participate in the program. These participants are to be chosen from human service agencies. Operational
changes may be made from year to year by the Educational Committee of
the San Diego - Yokohama Sister City Society to facilitate improvement
of the program. |
